Frequently asked questions

for HONOREES

Eligibility

  • Eligibility anniversary dates for honorees coincide with our fiscal year:

    2023 Honorees: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023

    2024 Honorees: July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024

Your Shopping Trip honoree group is based on when your anniversary falls, and you meet your milestone date. Examples:

    • Sarah’s 25th anniversary was on October 30, 2023. She is part of the 2023 Shopping Trip honoree group.

    • Ryan’s 30th anniversary was on March 17, 2024. He is part of the 2024 Shopping Trip honoree group.

  • To attend the event on the evening of May 9, 2024, eligible associates must meet their milestone prior to leaving the organization AND their reason for leaving must be due to retirement purposes only. Any other former associates who have left for other reasons will not be invited to attend the event (for 2024 honorees, this also includes receiving the shopping trip money).

Gift Card FAQs

  • 2023 honorees: Gift cards were mailed to the home address on file in Workday in November 2023.

2024 honorees: Because we are still during your eligibility period, we have not issued your Shopping Trip money. We will communicate the process as we get closer to the May 2024 event.

  • You can spend your monetary gift anywhere, anytime, or you can save it. However, after 24 months of inactivity, the card will deactivate and issue a live check to the address on file.

  • Associates receive a monetary gift card from JP Morgan based upon their years of service:

    20 years @ $15 per year = $300

    25 years @ $15 per year = $375

    30 years @ $15 per year = $450

    35 years @ $15 per year = $525

    40 years @ $15 per year = $600

    45 years @ $15 per year = $675

    50 years @ $15 per year = $750

    55 years @ $15 per year = $825

  • 2023 Honorees: Your original card is activated and ready to use when you receive it.

  • We are not able to donate these funds on your behalf. We recommend you deposit your monetary gift in your account at the bank and then write a check to your favorite charity.

  • The payroll team will ensure that all applicable taxes and earnings are included in your W2. There is no action required on your part.

  • Full time and part time associates will receive payment for one shift, up to 8 hours maximum on the day of the event (May 9, 2024). Retirees and contingent honorees do not receive payment to attend. Leaders are encouraged to accommodate staffing to allow their honoree to attend the event!

  • Yes – but we defer to the manager to create a schedule for the associate so that attending the Zoo Event does not put them into an overtime situation; rather hope that they could “shift” their day off to remain with their current FTE status and hours.

Example: If the associate is a night/3rd shift associate, there is a chance that the associate would have worked until 7 a.m. on 5/9 then attend the shopping trip event later that day and in essence be paid for the “next” days shift for hours that would have crossed into 5/9/24.
